Day 1. (Sun) - Salvador / Lençóis.
Morning departure to Chapada Diamantina with its trekking nd beautiful waterfalls. Lençóis is considered to be the gateway to Chapada. Arrival, accommodation and sightseeing walk round the small historic city which one day hopes to become a HISTORIC HUMANITY HERITAGE. We suggest dining at Neco’s Bar.
Day 2. (Mon) - Lençóis / Lapa Doce Grotto / Pratinha and Blue Well
Morning visit to Gruta (Grotto) da Lapa Doce where the visit will be by the light from lanterns, which makes the rock formations impressive. On to the da Pratinha and Azul grottos, where we can go snorkel diving in the clean clear waters. In the evening, we climb up the MORRO DO PAI INÁCIO (Father Ignacio’s Mount), one of the post-card settings of the region, to watch the sunset.
Day 3. (Tues) - Lençóis / Sossego Water Fall / Ribeirão do Meio.
The day starts with a visit to Cachoeira do Sossego (the Centre Waterfall), where we will be rewarded by the magnificent views from the route and the beautiful waterfall. Today we also will not miss the slippery slope of the RIBEIRO DO MEIO, in which you can slide.
Day 4. (Weds) - Lençóis / Torrinha Grotto / Mucugezinho Water Fall / Diabo Well
Morning visit to the sensational Gruta da Torrinha. On the road to Irecê, with its 8kms of magnificent caverns. Lunch in Mucugezinho and a visit to the waterfall, bathing in the waters of the Poço do Diabo (The Devil’s Pit), which, despite its name, seems like paradise.
Day 5. (Thurs) - Lençóis / Fumaça Water Fall / Capão Valley / Riachinho.
Our itinerary includes trekking to the Cachoeira da Fumaça (Smokey Waterfall), another attraction of the tour which is considered unmissable. We finish the day with a relaxing swim in the stream. You finish up tired, but only physically. Mentally you feel great.
Day 6. (Fri) - Lençóis / Encantado Well / Blue Well
Visit to the Poço Encantado (the Enchanted Pool) and a swim in the Poço Azul (The Blue Pool) are one of the best moments of this trip. The Poço Encantado lives up to its name. Even without the sun’s rays falling on the water, July, it is enchanting. The waters of the Poço Azul are deep, but so clear that they seem shallow. Don’t miss it.
Day 7. (Sat) - Lençóis / Marimbus Swamp / Roncador River / Praia do Forte.
In the morning, we descend the Rio Roncador (the Snoring River) by canoe, passing through an area known as the “Pantanal da Chapada” (The laminated swamp). The trip seduces you with the natural pools of the Cachoeira do Roncador, where we can bathe. We have a typical barbequed lunch then rest in hammocks under the mangroves. We go by Toyota along the old diamond trails.
Day 8. (Sun) - Salvador / Historical sightseeing tour
Morning sightseeing round first capital of Brazil with innumerable historic and touristic sights: the Largo (square) do Pelourinho, one of the most important areas of colonial architecture in the country; the church of St. Francis of Assisi (1686), lined with gold; the church of Bonfim (1745), the most famous for its decoration in all Bahia; the Paço Municipal; The Largo (square) and narrow streets of Vitória; the Castro Alves theatre, in the old centre of the city; the forts of St. Pedro, St. Marcelo and Mont Serrat; the architecture at the Solar do Unhão (Union Manor House), the Conceição da Praia Basilica; Frei São Joaquim (St. Joaquim Friar Maritime station); the Lacerda Elevator; the Modelo Market
