Day 1. (Sun) – Salvador / Historical sightseeing tour
Morning sightseeing round first capital of Brazil with innumerable historic and touristic sights: the Largo (square) do Pelourinho, one of the most important areas of colonial architecture in the country; the church of St. Francis of Assisi (1686), lined with gold; the church of Bonfim (1745), the most famous for its decoration in all Bahia; the Paço Municipal; The Largo (square) and narrow streets of Vitória; the Castro Alves theatre, in the old centre of the city; the forts of St. Pedro, St. Marcelo and Mont Serrat; the architecture at the Solar do Unhão (Union Manor House), the Conceição da Praia Basilica; Frei São Joaquim (St. Joaquim Friar Maritime station); the Lacerda Elevator; the Modelo Market
Day 2. (Mon) – Salvador / Morro de São Paulo
Morning departure by launch to All Saints Bay (Baía de Todos os Santos), which extends over 1,100km2 with more than 50 islands, and a final destination at St Paul’s Mount. The Tinaré Island is host to calm beaches and exciting parties. We will visit the mount’s lighthouse (1835) and the ruins of the fort, Old Prision to watch the dolphins and the sunset.
Day 3. (Tues) – Morro de São Paulo
The word Nature reaches new heights at St Paul’s Mount. You will, probably, experience the most unforgettable dive of your life here, with the coral beds and rich marine life. The best dives are at the Pedra (stone) do Moleque, the murals of Gamboa and the Ilha (isle) of Caitá. The semi deserted Enchanted Beach offer excellent bathing and you can enjoy the mangroves.
Day 4. (Weds) – Morro de São Paulo / Ilha de Boipeba
After breakfast, a boat trip around the Island of Tinaré, stopping at Garapauá on the Island of Boipeba for swimming and diving on the coral reefs. We will sail along the Rivers Cairu and Inferno (Hell River), then return to Morro do São Paulo.
Day 5. (Thurs) – Morro do São Paulo / Barra Grande
We would like to suggest a morning buggy trip to Ilha de Boipeba with a boat trip to Ponta dos Castelhanos (Castilian Point), where we can enjoy diving in the natural pools of Moreré. We will find shipwrecks as well as coconut farms. In the afternoon we proceed in buggy to Ponta (Point) do Mutá for a trip and lodgings in Barra Grande. We suggest a trip to Morro do Celular with a visit to the Lake and Cassange Beach.
Day 6. (Frid) – Barra Grande / Taipú de Fora
We suggest spending the whole day on the taiú de Fora Beach, where at low tide one can find beautiful corals damming the waters to form magnificent natural pools; It is a real life auarium, ideal for free diving and snorkelling. We also suggest a visit to the Taious light (76m) with its panoramic view of the beaches reaching out to the open sea and the Baía (bay) de Camamu, the Cassange and Blue Lakes.
Day 7. (Sat) – Barra Grande / Itaparica / Ilha do Frade / Salvador
In the morning we take a boat to the Rio Acarai anchorage, which links the Maraú Peninsula with Camamu. We will find our coach waiting to take us to Ilha de Itaparica , where we will embark on a schooner to the Ilha do Frade for lunch and sea bathing. Overnight in Salvador.
Day 8. (Sun) – Salvador

The first Federal Capital and a modern city which conserves its important architectural heritage. Narrow steep cobblestoned streets and wide well signposted avenues live side by side. As the principal redoubt of African religion in Brazil it has parades which mix Catholicism with Afro-Brazilian religious rites (Candomblé). The sites where Voodoo is practised are distant, we recommend going with a guide. There are innumerable historic and touristic sights the church of St. Francis of Assisi (1686), lined with gold; the church of Bonfim (1745), the most famous for its decoration in all Bahia Don’t forget to lunch at the Iemanjá Restaurant and have dinner at the Sorriso da Dada after the folkloric show.
